A large mosaic composed of hundreds of painted sponge pieces; recreating Rembrandt’s The Sacrifice of Isaac (1635).
The work presents the biblical scene with figures constructed from soft, everyday materials.
The composition includes Abraham with an obscured expression, Isaac’s face covered by his father’s hand,
and a dynamic posture suggesting tension.
The sponge-like texture disassembles the solidity of the original image, altering its physical presence.
